Schoolchildren from several schools in UAE were taken to hospital with suspected food poisoning after eating sandwiches and yoghurt from their school canteens in the past two days, the Gulf News reported Friday.
Parents were quoted by the daily as saying that they were concerned about the food served by school canteens and the hygienic conditions. A father told the paper that his daughter “came home from school on Tuesday suffering from severe diarrhoea and fever. I took her immediately to Umm Al Quwain Hospital and to my surprise found there was no bed for her. All the beds in the pediatric and emergency wards were taken by other schoolchildren."
The father was told that the reason of having no place for your daughter is that they had received several similar cases like his daughter from other schools, said the daily – Albawaba.com
