A meeting of UAE lawyers has decided to set up an association of lawyers in the country to represent and promote the best interests of practicing attorneys, reported Emirati news agency (WAM).
The decision to form the association, splitting from the Jurists' Association which now covers lawyers as well, was taken by a near-unanimous vote at a meeting held in Dubai on Thursday, according to the agency.
Abdullah Al Rukn, Chairman of the Board of the Jurists' Association, presided over the meeting, which was attended by 35 lawyers, according to a report in the Dubai based daily Khaleej Times – Albawaba.com
