The United Arab Emirates has condemned the Israeli "continuous and intentional violations at Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem", according to Emirates news agency WAM.
It added that such violations are totally rejected by every Arab and Muslim and represents a real danger to the peace process.
"The tour of terrorist Ariel Sharon to Haram Al Sharif, is a challenge and provocation not only to Arab feelings, but to all Muslims. The event coincided with the claim of the Israeli government that Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel," said the agency.
"Sharon has on purpose, set on fire a religious war, as violence continued for the second day of clashes, which led to five people being killed and scores of others wounded by Israeli forces," the agency said - Albawaba.com
