ALBAWABA - Two Supreme Court judges in Iran lost their lives, and a third was injured, following a shooting outside the Palace of Justice in Tehran’s Ark Square on Saturday.

The Iranian Fars News Agency reported that the attacker, after opening fire, took his own life at the scene. Initial investigations revealed that the attacker had no legal cases pending before the Supreme Court and was not associated with any court proceedings.

The attack occurred in a busy area near the judiciary complex, where the gunman directly targeted the judges. A personal guard accompanying one of the judges also sustained injuries during the assault.

The judiciary identified the two victims as Judges Mohammad Moghiseh and Ali Razini. Moghiseh had been previously associated with trials involving individuals described by opposition outlets as political detainees.

Authorities have launched an immediate investigation to determine the attacker’s motives. So far, no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the incident.

This high-profile attack has sent shockwaves across Iran’s judiciary system and has raised concerns about security measures around public officials.
