Chief of Jordan’s Contactors’ Association Sahl Majali has denied a report that he was injured in Jerusalem Friday during the violent clashes between Palestinians and the Israeli security forces.
Majali, who was on a business trip to Palestine, said, however, that two of the association’s members were injured after the delegation performed the Friday prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque. He named them as Mahmoud Tarawaneh and Abdul Aziz Nawafleh.
Majali added in a telephone interview with Albawaba.com that his injured colleagues were “in excellent health and have left the hospital.”
A source at Jordan’s Professional Associations had told Albawaba.com that Majali was injured during the confrontations.
Commenting on the boiling situation in the West Bank, Majali said that what he saw was an example “of the Palestinian defiance of Israel and its attempt to impose its sovereignty on the holy sites.”
“Their moral spirits are high, and they are committed to safeguard their sacred places,” he added.
Majali and his colleagues will return home on Sunday.
