· Devices outgun competition through reliability, image quality, speed and user friendliness
Canon Europe, world leader in imaging solutions, has been awarded two prestigious Spring 2008 “Pick” awards by Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), the world’s leading independent tester of document imaging products, for its leading colour multifunctional printers (MFPs), the iR C2380i and iR C5185i . Excellent ease of use and scan functionality set the iR C2380i apart from its competitors and the nearly flawless reliability of the iR C5185i earned it BLI’s prestigious award with both devices coming out at the top of their respective categories.
BLI regularly undertakes exhaustive lab-based evaluations and acknowledges the best in class with its twice yearly “Pick” awards. MFPs have to prove outstanding performance in a wide range of areas, including reliability, productivity, image quality, ease of use, IT and security.
The Canon iR C2380i, named winner in the Outstanding Segment 2 Business Colour MFP category, met all judges’ requirements and surpassed its competition, confirming the device’s ability to meet the demand of small businesses and workgroups for reliable, cost-effective colour printing.
David Sweetnam, BLI European lab and research manager said: “What’s noteworthy about this model is its amazing performance in our booklet print productivity test. This unit also had above average colour copier efficiency in all modes evaluated when compared with competitive models. In fact, colour print efficiency when printing from one-sided documents to double-sided output was the highest for models tested.”
Excellent speed and reliability for real time efficiency in office environment
The Canon iR C5185i earned BLI’s Outstanding Segment 4 Business Colour MFP award, showing nearly flawless reliability at BLI’s 200,000-impression durability test, proving to be very productive, especially when printing in colour. The device produced BLI’s job stream – which simulates typical office usage – in the fastest time for units in its speed range.
Paul Rowntree, European Marketing Manager, Canon Europe, says: “As the flagship model of our office colour portfolio, the iR C5185i with its superior performance provides businesses with a clear benefit for their office environment. Both awards from BLI prove the reliability and speed of Canon’s MFPs, which translate into time and cost savings for our customers.”
