ALBAWABA - The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) claimed to have struck the U.S. Fifth Base in Bahrain on June 10.

Iran said its naval forces launched a drone attack against the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain early Wednesday, in response to Washington's attacks on Tehran, which were driven by the shooting down of an American helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz.

The army said in a statement that its forces launched a Shahed-136 drone that struck the Fifth Fleet's base in Manama at approximately 2:30 a.m. local time (3.30 a.m. GST).

According to Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the attack on the U.S. base was carried out following Washington's strikes on Jask, Sirik, and Qeshm that reportedly damaged a telecommunications tower and destroyed two water storage tanks in the Bemani district along Iran's southern coast.
