ALBAWABA - American actress Gwyneth Paltrow recently sparked outrage on social media among pro-Palestine and human rights activists after starring in an ad about "51 PARK," an Israeli luxury housing development in Herzliya, occupied Palestine.
The ad featured Paltrow's morning routine, including a run in a New York park. The actress ends the video with, "There's a reason the world's most iconic buildings are by a park." She then tells a fellow actor, "51 PARK," to which he responds, " New York?" Paltrow says, "No... Herzliya, Israel."
According to Jewish News, the project is being developed in a collaboration between Israeli real estate group Aviv Melisron and Israeli creative agency Why Worry. It was announced through a LinkedIn campaign by Why Worry founder and chief executive Gabi Attal, who said Paltrow will lead the project's advertising.

Attal wrote on LinkedIn, "To bring this architectural masterpiece to the Israeli audience, we needed a figure who effortlessly embodies international elegance, a premium lifestyle, and uncompromising quality. Enter Academy Award, Emmy, and Golden Globe winner Gwyneth Paltrow."
He added, "Filmed on differet locations in New York City, the campaign bridges the gap between the world's most iconic park side residences and the future of luxury living in Herzliya’s Israel. 51 PARK introduces the two 51 story towers with panoramic views overlooking the park and the sea."
The ad sparked outrage among human rights activists who criticized the actress for starring in a project that promotes the displacement of Palestinians and the development of real estate on stolen land.
A social media user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Stolen land from indigenous peoples."
Another added, "No shame doing publicity for stolen land these people are sick and you’re still continue genocide those indigenous people in their own land this is what just today. A soldier shot a seven months baby in the head don’t turn your eyes to the other side. This is your tax money."
