At the time of a press conference held on Tuesday November 8, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan called Turkish immigrants living in Europe to avoid being involved in violent riots, which have been going on in Paris and French cities for the last two weeks. Turkish Daily News reports that Erdogan said, “I invite the 4.5 million Turks (living in Europe) to behave with common sense and maturity. Destroying and burning cannot be the way to seek (human) rights." There have been no reports of France's large ethnic Turkish community joining the violence.
