ALBAWABA- A day after his call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, former U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, discussing steps toward a ceasefire.
In a statement, Trump described the conversation as “very good,” lasting about an hour. He said much of the discussion focused on aligning Ukraine and Russia’s positions following his earlier talk with Putin.
“We are very much on track,” Trump stated, adding that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Michael Waltz would provide further details on the discussions.
Yesterday, U.S. President Donald Trump called his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin "productive," claiming it resulted in a temporary halt to Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
In a Truth Social post, Trump stated that both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "want to end the war" and confirmed an "immediate ceasefire on all energy and infrastructure."
He added that discussions are ongoing for a full ceasefire and a lasting peace deal.
“This war would have never started if I were President!” Trump asserted, emphasizing that key elements of a peace agreement were discussed, including the war’s toll on soldiers.
“The process is now in full force, and hopefully, for the sake of humanity, we will get the job done!”
