Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (“Huawei”), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, has announced the signing of a US$100 million GSM network expansion contract with Telecom Malaysia Investment (Bangladesh) Ltd. (“TMIB”), a leading telecom operator in Bangladesh.
According to the contract, Huawei will supply a wide range of GSM products and solutions including MSC, BSC, BTS, GPRS as part of the expanded network, as well as MMS, WAP and WIN platforms. Huawei will also be providing post sales services and professional consulting services to TMIB on network operations. This contract marks another key milestone in the strategic cooperation between Huawei and TMIB, the second largest telecom operator in Bangladesh, accounting for 31 percent of the telecom market share.

The new network will allow TMIB to provide a wider range of services to its customers.
“We are pleased to choose Huawei as our partner for long–term growth,” said Mr. Salehuddin Kashem Khan, Chairman of the TMIB Board. “We believe that Huawei’s industry-leading solutions and high quality services will significantly enhance our competitiveness in the marketplace.”
“Huawei looks forward to a fulfilling, long-term partnership with TMIB, and we are excited about cooperating with TMIB,” said Mr. Ding Shaohua, General Vice President of Huawei. “Huawei is committed to bringing excellent services and innovative technologies to the Bangladesh market to better meet the communications needs of Bangladeshi users with the new network.”
