The criminal court at the Egyptian City of El Tour handed down a one-year jail term and a fine of EP500 for each of three Israelis charged with smuggling ammunition into the country, the Cairo-based daily Al Akhbar reported.
The tourists were apprehended red-handed at the Egyptian resort of Taba’s point of entry.
The first suspect Ehud Khalifa, 37, was caught with 11 bullets hidden inside the tableau of his car. He claimed that he had forgotten that the bullets were there. The second suspect Samuel Cohen, 29, a costume factory owner was also caught with 29 bullets in the boot of his car while the third, Ronny Angata, 39, a supermarket owner was caught with 29 bullets hidden under his car seat -- Albawaba.com
