Syrian army troops have retaken strategic hills and heights in the central province of Homs as government forces continue their operations in many parts of the Arab country, according to PressTV.
The Syrian army targeted Daesh positions southeast of Homs city, and gained control over several strategic hills and heights near al-Quaryatayn town.
The news comes as the army also retook al-Raqqa bridge and the hills of Brok in Deir Ezzor after fierce clashes with Daesh fighters.
Some 19 militants were killed and a number of others injured in the clashes which also left six machine gun-mounted vehicles destroyed.
The Syrian army also destroyed a number of militants' gathering centers and weapons in Sheikh Lutfi village and the neighborhood of al-Rashideen 4 on the southern outskirts of Aleppo city.
Meanwhile, four civilians were killed and five others injured in a Daesh rocket attack on al-Safira town, southeast of Aleppo.
There has been no reference to the casualties among the Syrian forces in this report.
Syrian forces have recently been making back-to-back advances with the support of fighters from the Lebanon group Hezbollah and Russian airstrikes.
Over 260,000 people have reportedly been killed in Syria since the civil war erupted in the country in March 2011.
