ALBAWABA - A Syrian police officer was killed in an Israeli bombardment at the Eastern entrance to Quneitra city on Wednesday, state media reported.

Israeli bombardment in the south of Syria near the occupied Golan Heights led to the death of a policeman, SANA added. Another person was also injured in the attack.

This comes a day after Israel's heavy airstrike in the Syrian capital Damascus targeting a top Iranian commander in Al Mazzeh municipality.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) confirmed that nine people, including four kids, were killed in the airstrike on Tuesday night. Eleven others were also reported injured in the strike.

SOHR reported that since the start of the year 104 attacks were carried out by the Israeli army; 85 airstrikes and 19 rocket attacks by ground forces.

The attacks in the first 10 months destroyed about 190 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunition warehouses, headquarters, centers as well as vehicles.
