According to ONA, Sultan Qaboos bin Said today issued three Royal Decrees as follows:
Royal Decree No. 61/2005 amending 1980 land law.
Article one says the phrase "or on approval of His Majesty the Sultan according to a recommendation from the Council of Ministers" shall be added to the end of article one of Royal Decree No. 5/80.
Article two says the decree shall be published in the official gazette and take effect from its date of publishing.
Royal Decree No. 62/2005 declares the tourist resort project at Al-Jissa area specified in the attached memo and diagram as a public utility project.
Article two empowers the concerned authorities to expropriate through direct implementation required installations and land plots for the aforementioned project in accordance with the provisions of the expropriation law for public utility.
The decree comes into force from its date of issue.
Royal Decree No. 63/2005 approves the oil agreement singed between the government of the Sultanate of Oman and Circle Oil Oman Limited Company signed on June 6th 2005.
