ALBAWABA - Unknown people have taken a ship off the UAE coast near the Strait of Hormuz and escorted it toward Iranian territorial waters, a U.K. maritime agency (UKMTO) announced on Thursday.

The vessel was "taken by unauthorised personnel whilst at anchor" 38 nautical miles northeast of Fujairah. UKMTO said, adding that it "is now bound for Iranian territorial waters".

Tension rises in the Strait of Hormuz amid the continuation of closure by the Iranian army and the American forces.
