As the ‘Shop and win Millions’ Campaign, organized by the Dubai Summer Surprises Office in coordination with Dubai Shopping Malls Group, enter its 8th week – and another winner of the half a million dirhams’ weekly draw is announced, the promotion enters its final weeks with excitement reaching fever pitch. The AED 5 million promotion continues to draw huge crowds of shoppers, a large number of them visitors from abroad, who have come to Dubai on their summer holidays. This week, the weekly prize money of AED 500,000 was won Rasim Kanakri, from Jordan, who held the winning coupon, number /0657847/.
“Shopping still remains one of the Dubai’s big draws for the international holidaymaker,” said Eisa Adam, President of DSMG. “Although Dubai now has a lot to offer to the global tourist – compared to ten years back when we started Dubai Summer Surprises – Malls continue to be one of the chief attractions. Add to this a mega promotion such as the one we are holding now and you have an absolutely irresistible combination.”
The ‘Shop and win Millions’ promotion has been hugely popular with residents and visitors alike with the number of coupons entering the draw increasing every week. This week, the draw was conducted with more than 383,500 coupons in the draw barrel. The draw was held at the Ibn Batuta Mall.
Abdulla Amiri, Senior Services & operations Coordinator, DSS Office said: “With 3 more draws to go, we expect a huge increase in sales revenues and coupon numbers as shoppers and visitors will flock to take advantage of DSS 2007 promotions and discounts in its last days. As part of the promotion, shoppers at all 21 participating DSS malls get one raffle coupon for every 200 dirhams worth of purchases. Purchases made using MasterCard credit cards automatically receive three coupons for every two hundred dirhams. The winners of the raffle are also announced live on TV by Sama Dubai.
