ALBAWABA - At least one person was killed in a car explosion in Israel's Kiryat Gat on Thursday.
A car blast was reported in Kiryat Gat, a city in Southern Israel.
A video was released on social media showing thick black smoke rising into the sky following the explosion.
A man was killed Thursday in a car explosion in Kiryat Gat. A spokesperson for Magen David Adom (MDA) stated, "At approximately 1:42 p.m. today, the center received a report of a car explosion in Kiryat Gat. Medical teams rushed to the scene and found a person with no signs of life. He was pronounced dead at the scene."
Police announced they have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the explosion. They indicated that forces from the Southern District, including explosives experts and forensic investigators, arrived at the scene and began collecting evidence.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
