South Korea will offer 500,000 tons of food aid to hungry North Korea in the form of a long-term loan, officials here said Thursday.
The food aid will include 300,000 tons of Thai rice and 200,000 tons of Chinese corn. The South will start shipping the food possibly by early October, the officials of the Unification Ministry said.
The food loan will carry an annual interest rate of one percent and will be repaid over 20 years with a 10-year grace period – SEOUL (AFP)
