The number of traffic accidents and their serious consequences is soaring in Egypt, due what are described as the insane speeds and carelessness of drivers, according to local newspapers.

A slew of traffic accidents took place Monday, killing seven and injuring 355, to mark one of the highest rates of road accidents in a single day.

The most prominent of Monday's accidents, which resulted in the death of four people and the injury of 11, occurred when a minibus overturned between Bilbis and Cairo. Passengers were on their way to attend a wedding party in Cairo when the accident took place - Albawaba.com
