"Arlequin serviteur de deux maitres,” (Servant of Two Masters) was performed Wednesday night, at Algiers National Theatre (TNA), by the troupe of Milan’s Piccolo theatre. According to local press reports, the Algerian audience was charmed by this performance.

This comedy was written in 1745 by the Venetian playwright Carlo Goldoni (1707-1793). It was directed for the first time in 1947 by Giorgio Strehler, one of the creators of the Piccolo kind. The play tells the story of Truffaldino, an out-of-work servant, and the fantastic day when he ends up with two jobs.
