Saudi Arabia has decided to open its hospitals to Palestinians wounded in clashes with Israeli forces and has already sent its first consignment of medicines to Gaza, newspapers reported Wednesday.

Saudi King Fahd ordered that "all health capacities in the kingdom, including hospitals and clinics, be put at the disposal of wounded Palestinians," papers said.

The Palestinian ambassador to Riyadh, Mustafa Hashem Sheikh Dib, said "three trucks loaded with medicines arrived in Gaza via Egypt on Tuesday, the first of several consignments of medicines to be sent to the Palestinian people."

Saudi Arabia condemned on September 30 the "brutal aggression perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinians in Jerusalem."

Sixty-three people, all but three of them Arabs, have been killed since September 28 in clashes with Israeli forces that have swept through the Palestinian territories and spilled over into Arab areas of northern Israel - RIYADH (AFP)
