ALBAWABA – Russian warplanes launched an airstrike on Sadallah Al-Jabiri Square, a central landmark in Aleppo, according to reports from local sources.

The attack's casualties and injuries remain unconfirmed as of now. Earlier today, Russian jets also bombed Aleppo University Hospital, killing nine people.

The northern Syrian provinces of Aleppo and Idlib have witnessed escalating violence in recent days. On November 27, intense clashes erupted between Assad regime forces and opposition fighters in Aleppo's western countryside.

Opposition forces quickly advanced towards the city center, securing large portions of Aleppo by November 30. The same day, they captured Khan Sheikhoun, gaining full control over Idlib province.

This latest escalation underscores the volatile and shifting dynamics in northern Syria, with civilian areas increasingly caught in the crossfire.
