ALBAWABA - While stressing that the key goal for 2025 is still accomplishing the goals of the current special military operation, Russian President Vladimir Putin has reaffirmed Russia's commitment to ending the war in Ukraine.
When asked whether the crisis in Ukraine will be resolved by 2025, Putin said, "We are actively working to bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine." He also revealed that Slovakia has volunteered to act as an impartial forum for peace talks between Kyiv and Moscow.
Putin also emphasized that Russia will continue to work toward the objectives of its military campaign in Ukraine in the next year. "Achieving these objectives remains our top priority," he said.
Putin recognized the limited quantity of "Orishnik" missile systems, but he did not rule out their possible use in the future. "We have no motive to conceal it, and it is not a secret. We are not in a haste to employ these weapons broadly, despite the fact that they are strong and made for certain purposes," he said.
On December 25, the Russian president attended an unofficial Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit in the Leningrad area. CIS leaders gathered to talk about developing regional cooperation and laying out future strategic initiatives.
Putin also participated in Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) meetings, where topics included advancing integration initiatives, resolving urgent regional concerns, and improving the efficiency of the union's single market.
