ALBAWABA - In the Southern Military District of the nation, the Russian Ministry of Defense has declared the commencement of a military drill centered upon the use of nuclear weapons.

According to a statement from the ministry, "Following the instructions of the Russian President and under the leadership of the General Staff, the first phase of the drill on the readiness and use of non-strategic nuclear weapons has begun in the Southern Military District."

During the practice, local military troops will move the ammunition needed for the "Iskander" tactical missile system to designated sites so they may be ready for possible deployment.

Aerial vehicles fitted with hypersonic "Kinjal" missiles will also participate in the exercise. The Ministry of Defense made it clear that this drill is in reaction to certain Western leaders' inflammatory and menacing remarks directed at Russia. The aim is to protect the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity while also strengthening the readiness of Russia's nuclear forces.
