Riyadh meeting on Syria kicks off in Saudi Arabia

ALBAWABA - Saudi Arabia started a ministerial meeting on Syria on Sunday in the capital Riyadh amid regional and international pledges to help Syria rise again following the fall of the regime of Bashar Assad, the former Syrian president.

Arab and European ministers arrived in Riyadh to attend the Sunday meeting in Saudi Arabia. 

Yesterday, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted on X pictures of the welcoming of the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, adding he was welcomed upon his arrival at King Khalid International Airport by the Saudi Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed A. Elkhereiji.

In addition, Syriaian newly appointed FM Asaad al-Shibani also landed in Riyadh on Jan. 11, according to Saudi state news agency (SPA).

The meeting will host Foreign ministers from various countries including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Iraq. In addition to envoys from the UK and the US and several top Arab and Western officials.
