The traditional majlis has undergone a modern makeover as judges at INDEX Design Show 2010 declared designer Rashida Rajkotwalla of Design Work Portfolio winner of the Contemporary Majlis Competition. The winner was announced by Bernard Walsh, dmg :: events Senior Business Advisor and founder of INDEX at the stunning Hall 2 exhibition space of the Dubai World Trade Centre where the exhibition is currently underway. The challenge involved four UAE based interior designers competing to create a majlis with a modern twist. Show organisers dmg :: events decided to hold the competition for a second year running following the massive hit it proved at last year's show.
