A staggering 80 percent of private higher education institutions in UAE are not up to standards, a senior education official has revealed, the Gulf News reported Wednesday.

Ahmed bin Butti Al Shamsi, Director of Continuing Education at the Ministry of Education and Youth, was quoted by the daily as saying that 80 percent of the 265 private learning centers in the UAE are "not up to the mark.”

He said that the ministry has evaluated and graded institutions from A to C, and the results will be made public for students and parents to make their choices.

"This may come into effect within two weeks and we will then put it on the Internet for the public," he said - Albawaba.com
