Palestinian police began Sunday clearing demonstrators from in front of an Israeli military strongpoint at Netzarim in the Gaza Strip, witnesses said.
The move came just after General Yom Tov Samia, the southern regional commander for the Israeli army, announced that Israel had reached a ceasefire agreement with Palestinian security to end the hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
The police put the demonstrators aboard trucks to take them away from the zone, which has seen some of the deadliest violence since clashes between the Israelis and Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip broke out 10 days ago -- NETZARIM, Gaza Strip (AFP)
