ALBAWABA - Tragically, two people were killed and many more were injured when air-dropped humanitarian supply boxes fell unexpectedly in the Gaza Strip, according to reports from Palestinian and local media sources.

Social media users have been sharing videos of the terrifying incident in which relief containers fell into the northern Gaza Beach Camp. Witnesses reported that the assistance crates descended quickly and chaotically, with some of them failing to properly deploy their parachute systems.

Sadly, two people lost their lives and numerous more were injured when the containers fell on bystanders who had gathered to collect aid. There are calls for a comprehensive probe into the circumstances surrounding the air-drop operation in response to the incident, which has caused significant anxiety.

Under royal orders, the Jordanian Armed Forces carried out nine airdrops in cooperation with other nations in response to the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. These drops were intended to deliver much-needed relief to the besieged populace by hitting different places in northern Gaza.

In addition to contributions from the Arab Republic of Egypt, the United States, the French Republic, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Kingdom of Belgium, the Royal Jordanian Air Force contributed four C130 aircraft.

According to a Jordanian source, Jordanian aircraft were not the source of the technical issue that led to several assistance packages falling free during an aerial drop over Gaza on Friday.

According to the source, all four of the Jordanian planes that took part in the joint aerial drop operation with five other nations completed the mission without any problems.

In addition, the source restated Jordan's dedication to aiding its Palestinian counterparts in Gaza and providing support in every way possible in the face of Israel's continuous attack in the area.

The Jordanian Armed Forces have carried out 33 Jordanian aerial drops and 28 aerial drops in cooperation with friendly and sister nations since the beginning of the onslaught on the Gaza Strip.
