ALBAWABA - U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened on Monday that he is prepared to bomb the unaligned country of Oman if it gets in the way of Hormuz deal with Iran.
"If Oman gets in the way, we'll bomb the s**t out of them," the U.S. President said in an interview with Fox News journalist Trey Yingst when asked about the isolated talks occurring between Oman and Iran regarding tolls on the Hormuz strait.
The talks between Oman and Iran are reportedly reaching their 'final stages' with the two countries agreeing on the coordinates of a new joint shipping route, according to an article by the Guardian.
The arrangement, also called the Joint Management Deal, will involve a two-way corridor wherein vessels entering the corridor would be under Iranian supervision while those exiting will be under Omani jurisdiction.
Despite the agreement, Iran insists it will not open up the strait unless the U.S. lifts its blockade of Iranian ports and offers other concessions, leaving the strait locked in a stalemate.
Trump also added during his interview that Iran should “put up the white flag of surrender”, according to Yingst's post on X regarding his interview with the President.
