Egyptian actor Nour El Sharif has confirmed that his second shot at directing is underway.
His new movie, Dakhlat Widad, (Widad’s Alley), will begin shooting within this winter after the holy month of Ramadan.
It looks as if the actor has, as many directors have done before him, stuck to a set of actors.
As in his first shot at directing, Al Ashiqan (The Two Lovers), Sharif has signed up his wife Poussy for the lead role in Widad’s Alley.
In an interview with Al Sharq El Awsat daily, Sharif explained that his latest project depicts the story of Widad, a beautiful woman played by Poussy. The action starts when Poussy, for an undisclosed reason, is always separated from the men she falls in love with.
Alongside Poussy, Huda Sultan, Faruq El Fishawi, Abla Kamel, and many other great names in Egyptian cinema, have signed on.
Meanwhile, Sharif told the London based daily that he has been working on the Widad project for six years.
Furthermore, the actor announced that he will be returning to his premier talent of acting in a Ramadan epic series on the legendary Omar Al Khayam, written by poet Abdul Salim Amin.
The series comes as a surprise since the ailing actor had previously announced that he would cease his work on the small screen for two years after last year’s series Al Rajul Al Akhar (The Other Man) – Albawaba.com.
