A new video film of Saddam Hussein being questioned by magistrates in Iraq was released on Monday. The former Iraqi president was asked about the killings of dozens of men after he survived an assassination attempt in 1982.
The undated film of Saddam and other members of his regime was released by the Iraqi special tribunal.
According to press reports, the prosecution will allege that over 100 executions were carried out in reprisal for an attempt to kill Saddam as his motorcade passed through the Shiite village of Dujail , north of Baghdad, in July 1982.
Iraqi government officials have said they would like to put Saddam on trial in the next few months, before an election. Tribunal officials have said the timetable is not set.
