ALBAWABA- In a significant step toward rebuilding Syria, Mohammed Al-Bashir, former head of the "Salvation Government" in Idlib, has been appointed to lead a transitional government following the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

Al-Bashir’s appointment was announced after a high-profile meeting involving Ahmed Al-Shara, the opposition’s armed forces leader, and Mohammed Ghazi Al-Jalali, the ousted regime's former prime minister, who will temporarily oversee government affairs.

The meeting focused on ensuring a smooth transfer of power, maintaining public infrastructure, and addressing the daunting challenges facing the new government.

Born in Idlib in 1983, Al-Bashir brings extensive experience to his new role, including leadership positions in development and humanitarian affairs under the revolutionary government.

Intensive consultations are also underway between opposition leaders and international diplomatic missions to stabilize Syria, facilitate the return of displaced citizens, and initiate reconstruction efforts.

This marks a new era of governance as the country transitions from six decades of authoritarian rule under the Assad family.
