ALBAWABA- During his speech at the UN summit in New York, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for an international alliance to stop Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his government, comparing it to the global effort that defeated Hitler.
Erdogan stressed that establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital can no longer be delayed.
Addressing the international community, he asked, "What are you waiting for to stop this murder network (the Israeli government) that is dragging the entire region into war for its political future?"
He accused Israel of ethnic cleansing and genocide against Palestinians and urged the UN Security Council to act immediately to stop the atrocities in Gaza.
Erdogan criticized the United Nations for becoming an ineffective and inactive institution, unable to fulfill its founding mission. He described Gaza as "the largest cemetery for children and women in the world" due to Israeli attacks.
He called on countries that have not yet recognized Palestine to do so immediately, stating they should "stand on the right side of history."
Erdogan emphasized his stance against both anti-Muslim and anti-Semitic acts, highlighting that his ancestors protected Jews 500 years ago. He further demanded that Israel be held accountable for its crimes and for the damage it has caused.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden called for a diplomatic solution to the escalating conflict, warning against a full-scale war as Israeli strikes continue against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also stressed the need for global order reform, warning that fragmentation is inevitable without it.
