ALBAWABA- For the first time, Hezbollah rockets have struck the Palestinian village of Deir Istiya in the West Bank, with video footage showing multiple Israeli settlements in the northern occupied territories hit.
Fires and power outages were reported in Israeli settlements across the Golan Heights, according to the Maariv newspaper.
The Israeli army confirmed the launch of 15 rockets from Lebanese territory toward the Upper Galilee, with some intercepted. At the same time, sirens blared southeast of Haifa and in the Hasharon area of Greater Tel Aviv.
Reports from Yedioth Ahronoth indicated that around 165 rockets were fired from Lebanon toward Israel since the morning. The Times of Israel added that Hezbollah deployed long-range missiles for the first time since the start of the current conflict.
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, following a security meeting, vowed to "change the balance of power in the north," signaling a potential escalation.
Amid heightened airstrikes, residents in southern Lebanon have begun fleeing northward. Meanwhile, the U.S. Pentagon has expressed concerns about a wider regional conflict, acknowledging signals from Israel regarding potential military operations in Lebanon but without further specifics.
UNIFIL urged all parties to fully commit to UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which calls for the cessation of hostilities in the region.
