ALBAWABA- Flights en route to Israel's Ben Gurion Airport were halted mid-flight due to missile strikes from Lebanon, leading to a temporary shutdown of the airport.
This marks a significant escalation in the conflict, as Hezbollah launched multiple strikes targeting key military and civilian areas across Israel.
Ben Gurion Airport, located near Tel Aviv, was shut down for over half an hour as missiles from Lebanon created a security threat. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for several attacks: bombing Tel Nof Air Base south of Tel Aviv, Shraga Base near Acre, and targeting Israeli forces in settlements of Zar'it and Shomera.
Sirens sounded in Israel’s Upper Galilee and east of Haifa, signaling possible drone infiltration, while rockets hit multiple areas in Nahariya, killing two civilians and causing extensive damage.
Over the past 24 hours, Hezbollah has intensified its missile attacks, marking the most severe bombardment on Israel since October 8, 2023.
In response, Israel initiated the second stage of its ground operations in Lebanon, advancing through new areas with Division 36 leading the offensive.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported five casualties in an Israeli raid on Baalshamieh and a total of 3,287 killed and 14,222 injured since the escalation began.
