ALBAWABA - Approximately 60,000 people who entered Ceuta, most by swimming, have returned to Morocco amid Spain's largest mass migrant crossing in years.
During the mass migration journey, which shocked authorities in Spain, 72 people were killed, as reported by Spanish officials. However, Moroccan authorities put the death toll at a lower figure.
Miguel Angel Perez Triano, the government's delegate to Ceuta, said, "The latest figure that we have is 72. The previous toll was 67 deaths.
But later Sunday, the interior ministry in Morocco said 11 people had died trying to reach Ceuta. It added that 10 people had drowned in the water, and another one fell from a rocky area.

Since the mass migration from Morocco to Spain, dozens of clips have been shared on social media, with some people claiming the Moroccan authorities helped push people to the Spanish border, despite Spain's thanking letter to Rabat over its help in returning migrants.
In one of the clips, a security force on the border was caught on video throwing a large stone at a migrant who was pushed back to his homeland from Ceuta. The footage caused huge outrage and anger online.
Some claimed the soldier was Moroccan while others online allegedly blamed it on Spain.
One shared the clip and wrote, "The heinous act of Moroccan security forces throwing stones at Moroccans returning to their homes from Ceuta to block their entry sparked widespread outrage."
On the other hand, some said that it was a Spanish soldier who was throwing the rock at the man who was spotted on camera climbing a mountain. The X user commented, "You have to tell the truth, Spanish soldier throws a large rock at an illegal migrant near Ceuta."
However, the identity of the soldier in the clip is unknown, as no official statement has been made regarding the clip.
