Mr. Mohamed Mohattane, the Moroccan Secretary of State in Charge of Rural Development, stressed the importance of rural manufacturing of carpets in Morocco. According to him, this is one of the leading industries in the rural regions of Morocco. EMarrakech reported on Sunday that Mr. Mohattane also emphasized the necessity to invest in this industry and promote the marketing of its products.
Mr. Mohattane, who was talking during the opening of a seminar on production in rural regions, held over the weekend in Khenifra, added that this industry has seen a great improvement during the past few years, reaching a production level of almost 1.7 million square meters.
