McAfee, Inc, the leading provider of intrusion prevention solutions has announced a new channel and marketing strategy for the Saudi region. The company plans to increase channel support and drive customer awareness on the importance of investing in IPS (Intrusion Prevention Solutions) as a business advantage.
As part of its strategy, the company has appointed a new Territory Manager, Kenan Abou Lteif to lead its new initiatives in Saudi Arabia.
Abou Lteif joins McAfee after a seven year stint as Sales Manager for self-service solutions in the Gulf region at NCR Corporation. In his new role, Abou Lteif will capitalize on his experience in dealing with large enterprise customers and creating long-term relationship with customers and partners, and thus strengthen McAfee’s presence in the Kingdom.
Commenting on his appointment, Abou Lteif said, “I am excited about this new role. We have outlined three different focus areas for Saudi. On the customer front, we plan to strengthen the relationship with our existing base and be closer to them. On the partner front, we are looking to consolidate ties with our family of resellers and Elite Partners and provide them with continuous support. And lastly but most importantly, we want to create more awareness that McAfee is not just an anti-virus player, but more a total IT security solution provider. The focus here is on increasing awareness of new trends in security protection, namely IPS and vulnerability assessment.”
“IPS, unlike traditional anti-virus protection, is a proactive measure to actively monitor and prevent threats before they occur. Being the biggest IT market in the region, Saudi is very important for McAfee for further growth in the Middle East. However, awareness levels are rather low and we have to work on advising our customers about the latest technologies and best practices in the IT security space,” he added.
McAfee is one of very few solution providers that can address almost all areas of IT security.  In enterprise solutions, the company has its award-winning IPS product family (IntruShield and Entercept) for both network and hosts. Recently, McAfee has acquired Foundstone, a leading company with a unique vulnerability management and risk assessment solution and a wide range of services. On the gateway, it has its flagship solution, WebShield, besides traditional solutions for the desktop such as anti-virus, desktop firewalls, anti-spyware and anti-spam.
McAfee, Inc., headquartered in Santa Clara, California, is the market leader in Intrusion Prevention and Risk Management solutions. McAfee delivers innovative and proven solutions and services that secure systems and networks around the world. With McAfee's unmatched security expertise, home, business, government, and service provider customers block attacks, prevent disruptions, and continuously track and improve their security. www.mcafee.com.
