In the alleged photo of Bashar Assad, the former leader was spotted with a long, white beard while holding a baseball bat and wearing a white suit.
According to people online, the photo showed Bashar Assad during his stay in Russia, considering that he fled, with his family, on Dec. 8, 2024, after the fall of the old regime in Syria.
What is the truth behind the photo of Bashar Assad?
Media sources revealed that after verifying its authenticity, it was found to be fake, having been created using artificial intelligence.
A reverse image search displayed the full-size image, showing Assad holding a baseball bat on his shoulder.
At the bottom right was the logo for "GROK," the chatbot from XAI, which creates generative AI and generates AI images.
