ALBAWABA - Two Iraqi military sources told Reuters early Tuesday that multiple Katyusha rockets were launched near Baghdad International Airport, although a US official denied that US military personnel were targeted in the incident.

According to two Iraqi security sources, three rockets were fired, one of which landed near Iraqi counter-terrorism troops' headquarters, inflicting damage and fire to several vehicles but no injuries.

"All military personnel are accounted for and military forces were not targeted as had been reported," the US defense official told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The sources had earlier claimed that air defenses had intercepted at least two Katyusha rockets that were fired at an army base housing US personnel.

However, the US official stated that Washington was aware of rumors that there was an attack on the Department of State's Baghdad Diplomatic Support Complex instead. The spokesman stated, "We refer you to the State Department for details regarding the incident".

A spokesperson for the US Department of State stated there were no injuries in the incident and that the department is evaluating the damage.
