The Moroccan journalist Belaid Bouimid of "Al Bayane" was unanimously elected (by 15 votes) to be the president of the African Union of Sports Correspondents, UJSA (Union des journalistes sportifs africains). Bouimid was chosen during the General Constitutive Meeting of this union, held recently, at the Palais des congres of Marrakech, in the framework of the 68th congress of the International Association of Sporting Press (AIPS).
<i>Aujourd'hui</i> reports that during this meeting, 12 out of 15 national delegates have also voted in favor of moving the union's head office to Casablanca (the representative of the Democratic Republic of Congo voted against this suggestion, while the representatives of Nigeria and Angola abstained).
