More than 2000 Students at the Jordan University rallied Monday in solidarity with the Palestinian people, who have clashed with the Israeli forces.

Since Thursday more than 40 Palestinians have died by Israeli fire, and more than 1000 injured.

The participants in the rally, which was organized by the Islamic movement at the university, performed prayers for the martyrs and burned the Israeli and US flags.

In a statement issued by the Islamist students, of which Albawaba.com obtained a copy, the angry students condemned “the Arab silence over the massacres.”

The protestors reiterated the Jordanian opposition powers’ demand to expel the Israeli ambassador to Amman. They hailed Ahmad Daqamseh, the Israeli soldier convicted of killing seven Israeli schoolgirls “who provoked him while he was praying at the Baqora area on the Jordanian-Israeli border,” where he used to serve.

Jordan has witnessed a series of rallies and public gatherings since Saturday to show solidarity with the Palestinians, and to urge action against the Jewish state’s atrocities – Albawaba.com
