A Jordanian tourism delegation started a Gulf tour Saturday with the aim of promoting tourism in Jordan and attract Arab tourists.

Head of the delegation, deputy director general of the tourism activation authority in the Jordanian tourism ministry, Mazen al-Hmoud said that the six-day tour includes Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and it aims at attracting tourists to Jordan through meetings the delegation members will be holding with their counterparts in the GCC countries.

The Jordanian delegation includes several high-ranking tourism and travel agents in Jordan, in addition to hotel delegates.

Al-Hmoud said in press statements before his departure that last week he organized visits for a Jordanian delegation to Jeddah, Riyadh and Manama during which the delegation held "tourism workshops" and met Saudi and Bahraini tourism and travel agents.

He added that 10 trips have been organized for tourism groups from the two countries to visit Jordan during the Adha Eid.

The Jordanian tourism ministry had organized since early this year an internal national tourism activation campaign where the various facilitations being offered in the hotels and transportation were highlighted. (Albawaba.com)
