ALBAWABA - White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan confirmed that US President Joe Biden is set to introduce a new final hostage deal to Israel and Hamas later this week, Axios reported citing two sources.
Axios revealed that Sullivan talked on Sunday with the families of American hostages held in Gaza that Biden is preparing a new hostage suggestion.
The final Gaza hostage deal comes after the body of American-Israeli citizen Hersh Goldberg-Polin was found in Rafah along with five other Israeli hostages.
After the news, Biden said in a statement on Sunday: "Let it be clear that Hamas leaders will pay the price for the crimes they committed."
He also added: "I am devastated and outraged. Hersh was among the innocents brutally attacked while attending a music festival for peace in Israel on October 7."
According to an Axios report, Biden and his top aides to seeking an agreement between the Israeli army and Hamas leaders as soon as possible after the death of six hostages who were taken from Israel on the October 7 operation by Hamas known as Al-Aqsa Flood.
The family of hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin announced that he was among the bodies found in Rafah by the Israeli army. They posted on Instagram: "With broken hearts, the Goldberg-Polin family is devastated to announce the death of their beloved son and brother, Hersh."
A major nationwide strike was launched across Israel on Monday morning to protest Prime Minister Netanyahu's no-deal with Hamas. Protests also erupted with 300,000 people taking streets in Tel Aviv to blame Netanyahu for the death of six hostages and calling for an immediate hostage deal.
