Japanese to Finance Petrochemical Plant in South Iran

A contract for constructing the world’s largest urea production plant in Pars Special Economic Zone was signed between Japan’s Toyo, Chiyudai and Iran’s Pedek company in Tehran on May 21, Atieh Bahar Consulting reported. 

Mohammadreza Nematzadeh, managing director of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), was quoted by the news service as saying that the plant will produce one million tones of urea and 676,000 tons of ammonia annually, all of which will be exported. 

He added that the contract is worth $205 million.  

The official further noted that “this is a finance contract and repayment would will be made within 8.5 years through exports” – Albawaba.com
