Jameed Al Kasih supports Vote for Petra patriotic initiative

During the “Vote for Petra” patriotic initiative, Kasih Food Production Company -Jameed Al Kasih- granted an amount of 10,000 Jordanian dinars to support Petra at New7Wonders elections. The initiative was held at the Jordan Applied University for Hospitality and Tourism (JAU), under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Tourism Osama Al- Dabbas, and in collaboration with The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), together with the attendance of Professor Mohsen Makhamra president of JAU, and the valued participation of the students of the university who voted for Petra for six hours reaching an approximate number of 100,000 votes.


The voting initiative was followed by a lunch attended by JTB officials, together with a number of key Jordanian journalists, media persons, and Jordanian artists. In addition to representative from MobileCom, a member of Jordan Telecom Group (JTG) who supported the voting process. During the event, Mr. Khaled Kasih, General Manager of Kasih Food Production Company, welcomed the attendees and emphasized on the importance of the private sector’s role in supporting and reinforcing national initiatives especially ones that have a positive impact on the Tourism sector and therefore on the Jordanian economy.

“We are proud to launch this initiative as an attempt to support the rose-red city of Petra at the new7Wonders elections; one of our main and ultimate goals is for Kasih Food Production Company -Jameed Al Kasih- to powerfully contribute and strengthen national initiatives aiming at raising the profile of Jordan, one of which is JTB’s initiative launched to position Petra as one of the world’s most attractive touristic destinations.” said Mr. Kasih commenting on this initiative.

The voting process lasted for six hours, during which His Excellency the Minister of Tourism Osama Al-Dabbas and the attendees voted for Petra from their cell phones encouraging the students to vote as fast and as much as possible, and highlighting this activity as a national duty which will put Petra on the map of culturally rich touristic destinations across the world. MobileCom, a member of the Jordan Telecom Group (JTG) showed support by providing SIM cards and handsets needed for the voting process.

“We are pleased to be here today, and we appreciate Kasih Food Production Company’s initiative which is a proof of the company’s patriotic feel and national commitment. We would also like to thank MobileCom for their support in giving the handsets and the SIM card needed for the voting process, as we believe that it is of utmost importance that the Jordanian private sector is involved in supporting the “Vote for Petra” campaign at the New7Wonders elections. We as Jordanians see it as our national pride to raise the profile of Petra, a testament of the Jordanian historical heritage and a symbol of architectural craftsmanship and protection.” said Mr. Mazen Al Homoud Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board.

The event was also attended by prestigious characters from the media sector in addition to the Jordanian artist Tony Qattan, who willingly gave his time to attend and entertain the students and highlighted his responsibility as social celebrity in taking part in making the history by supporting Petra at the New7Wonders elections.
