Jafza (Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority), has announced that its participation in the Guangzhou International Lighting Fair in China earlier this month, has generated interest among leading Chinese lighting and building technology companies to the construction zone in Jafza. The Guangzhou Lighting Fair is the biggest and most comprehensive presentation of lighting and building technology products in Asia, and attracted over 40,000 trade visitors from around the world.

The visitor profile for the event comprised of planners, engineers, building contractors, developers, industry end users, architects, energy suppliers, wholesalers and retailers. The exhibitors at the fair represented all major sections of the lighting and electrical industry, including building technology, installations, automation, communication, systems, air-conditioning, elevator systems, solar energy, technical lighting, light control and lighting accessories.

“The huge success we achieved during our participation in last year’s edition of the Guangzhou Lighting Fair, prompted us to target this event again,” said Jamal Bin Marghoob, Assistant Regional Manager, Jafza. “The fair is one of the premier events for electrical building technology and presented an excellent platform for Jafza to target Chinese companies in this sector. The major boom in the building and construction industries around the world, especially in the Middle East region and UAE has significantly enhanced the demand for lighting and electrical products. Jafza, with its range of high quality infrastructure facilities offers dynamic business opportunities for companies involved in lighting and building technology, especially in our construction zone.”

“A large number of Chinese investors and companies from the lighting industry expressed their desire to establish operations in Jafza, to effectively target the high potential Middle East markets,” he added.

Jafza offers a range of advantages to companies who plan to set up operations in the zone, like simple administrative procedures, zero duties on all import and export goods and machineries within the free zone, modern communication facilities and excellent support services.
