ALBAWABA - A senior Hezbollah commander, along with 3 other fighters was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the village of Jouya in southern Lebanon late Tuesday.

Hezbollah confirmed the killing of the leader and claimed in a statement that he was Taleb Abdallah, also known as Abu Taleb.

According to Reuters, a security source said that Abu Taleb was the most senior member of the group to be slain in eight months of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. The sources named him as the group's leader for the southern Lebanese borders.

Reuters reported, citing security sources, that those killed in the Israeli strike were killed during a secret meeting. The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), did not provide an official statement commenting on the incident.

The IOF confirmed that more than 100 rockets were fired from Lebanese territories, with Hezbollah being the source.

The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the commander was senior to Wissam Tawil, a high-level Hezbollah commander killed in an Israeli strike in January.

Since Israel launched its brutal aggression on Gaza in October, approximately 300 Hezbollah fighters, including leaders and operatives, including high profile officials have been killed by Israel in attacks on Lebanon.

More than 320 Hezbollah militants have been killed, according to the IOF, with at least 100 of them having been singled out after field agents obtained "precise high-quality intelligence" on them.

Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel

Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.

Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.

In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The latest statistics by the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that the death toll from Israeli brutal pounding on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has soared to 37,164+ people, with more than 84,832+ injuries.

Since then, approximately 85% of Gazans have been displaced, all of whom are suffering from severe food insecurity, and the healthcare system has collapsed. Hundreds of thousands of people lack shelter, and aid trucks are entering the area at a lower rate than before the conflict began.
